Walking Rugby will arrive in Manchester after the Easter Holidays when Mancunians add another slower paced game suitable for older people.
Billed as a slower version of the greatest game, walking rugby is a non-contact game played under Tag Rugby rules and with no kicking.
Part of Mancunians’ very successful Active Mancunians programme, walking rugby is suitable for men and women aged over 50 and those people with an illness. The game is played with 5-7 players per team on a smaller than usual pitch with games of 40 minutes duration. Games will be outside for the spring and summer months and then will move indoors in the autumn.
Sessions will be held at Mancunians’ training ground at Hough End Police Club, Mauldeth Road West, Chorlton and will cost £3.00.
