Murtza: Home is Where the Heart is

Mancunians’ player Manager Saqib Murtza is delighted that his charges will have the luxury of playing at home this weekend, after several weeks playing ‘on the road.’
Mancunians have had a difficult few weeks. After going most of the early part of the season unbeaten, they have had to play matches away from home for most of May and June as their scheduled opponents conceded fixtures and the league that they were playing in, crumbled. This meant that Mancunians had to arrange fixtures against teams playing in higher divisions than them. But even so, they performed well, beating teams from Oldham, Wigan and St Helens, and memorably only lost by 12 points to a team challenging for the title in the North West Premier Division.
But Murtza is happy to be playing back at home, and is looking forward to all the luxuries that it brings.

Mancunians have Had to Tough It Out Recently

The players are very happy to be playing at home at last.” Said the former London Skolar. “Simple things are what enables rugby league teams to win. He said. “Travelling to away games over the last few weeks has taken its toll and the lads are desperate to play at home. Playing at home allows us to prepare fully for the game without worrying about who is going to arrive at what time – it’s those stresses that a team can do without. It’s surprising how much it distracts people from preparing for a game, but it really does. “ He said.
Despite the large amount of away games Mancunians have impressed both Murtza and fellow Coach, Lucas Onyango with their tenacity and resilience. “We’ve worked hard on that. Said the dual code Pakistani International. “Great teams are able to withstand pressure and bounce back from knocks. He said. “We’ve done that a few times this season so far and that has give the lads confidence in their abilities which is what they have lacked in the past. We’re looking to continue that for the next few weeks and if we do so, then I’m confident that we could be challenging for silverware.”
