Mancunians Rock Blackpool

Mancunians’ unbeaten start to 2016 continues after a 32-24 win away at Blackpool Stanley writes Brad Fittler.
Mancunians, who saw eight players make their debut for Manchester’s Rugby League club, rocked Blackpool and enjoyed the majority of possession throughout the game despite having numerical disadvantage early in the game due to injury to key players.
Adam Lacy led the way after his transfer from Halifax side Greetland, with two tries and cousins Saqib and Adam Murtza grabbing a try each with Chris Fox securing four out of six conversions to give the Manchester side the edge.
Ben Rimmington bossed the centre of the field with his well timed runs and rock solid defence and Mancunians finished the game with only twelve fit players and despite Blackpool being able to field a full seventeen for the majority of the game. A heroic defensive performance from the twelve men left standing saw Mike Burr and Jesse Fay announced joint Manc of the match.
Coach Lucas Onyango said: “I am very pleased with the performance from everyone today. We suffered some injuries early on which disrupted our shape but we stuck to what we had planned to do and we will return to Manchester victorious”.
